| Tennessee Outdoor Classroom Symposium |
Friday, Apr 25, 2008 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM
Hosted by the TN Environmental Education Association, Project CENTS at the TN Department of Education and the TN Wildlife Resources Agency, the 2008 Tennessee Outdoor Classroom Symposium promises to be a valuable day for those looking to expand the walls of the traditional classroom. Aspects of outdoor classrooms including creation, maintenance, funding, and appropriate learning activities will be addressed through interactive concurrent sessions and a luncheon with keynote speakers. Experience outdoor classrooms as weather stations, wetlands, bird stations, rain gardens (you can help build one that day!), native gardens, tree trails, and much more.
This workshop is for teachers, administrators, custodians, parents, and non-formal environmental educators. Schools are encouraged to send a team including faculty, staff and parents. The TN Department of Education will reimburse local public education systems for substitutes employed to cover for teachers in attendance.
Learn how outdoor classrooms enhance instruction in all subjects.
